SAP SLcM has introduced a generic framework to provide Students with a wide variety of self-service requests. This framework makes use of the ‘My Request’ app that can be added to the FIORI Launchpad. This app makes use of the Generic Form Designer (GFD) delivered by SAP. Using the GFD multiple request forms can freely be created that allow students to trigger different self-service requests, such as:
– Leave of Absence
– Change of Program
– De-Registration
– Changes in Personal Details (Names, Addresses, Health Insurance, IBAN Bank number, etc.)
– Any other Student based self-service request
The GFD makes uses of the Internet Service Request framework (ISR). In the ISR you can configure ISR-Scenario’s for each request. A scenario contains all necessary data fields to be able to enter and process a request. Customers can create their own scenario’s, so there is complete flexibility in defining your own desired scenario.
A generic workflow framework has been developed to support all types of My Request processes. A single workflow template (main workflow) will be started when a request is submitted. Within this main workflow the current My Request type is determined. Via a set of configuration tables the main workflow will dynamically determine the relevant process route and steps to be processed as well as the responsible actors who should process these tasks.
Approval workflow tasks can be processed in the Business Workplace in the SAP backend system or via the ‘My Inbox’ app in the FIORI Launchpad.
The My Request processes are currently being used in various countries (United Kingdom and Germany).
