Admission & Registration

This process covers all aspects of the Admission and Registration of first-year students and returning students (re-registration). This often complex and time-consuming process requires a (large) number of steps to be performed before a potential student is eligible to be registered at the Education Institute. Some steps that need to be performed may be:
– Verification of previous education(s) / earned degrees (especially for International students)
– Verification of Identity (passport checks, etc.)
– Verification of fee payment(s)
– VISA requirements for International students
– Housing, Health Insurance, etc.

Next to the steps that require human interaction from the Admssions Office or other departments involved, the process also covers a variety of automatic steps needed to configure Student access to several systems:
– Grant Student access to self-service portal
– Creation of e-mail address for new students
– Optional automatic module bookings
– Communication with student regarding process status changes (admissability, approval, rejection, request for additional documents, etc.)

A generic workflow framework has been developed to support the complete process. The process is highly flexible in terms of:
– Number of steps to be performed and the order in which steps are perfomed
– Flexible assignment of actors per process step
– Flexible / automatic post-processing steps if a status update has taken place (e.g. send mail to student, automatic registration in case of final approval, etc.)
– Combine automatic steps and human interaction steps

The many flexible configuration options in the Admission and Registration process have made it relatively easy to successfully implement this process at multiple Institutes in different countries throughout Europe (Netherlands, France, United Kingdom and Germany)!
